Overview

Rhyme Notes is a mobile lyric-writing and recording application with an integrated rhyme engine, built and maintained by a single independent developer — me. There’s no company behind the app, and I’m committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and your rights regarding your data.

Information I Collect

Data You Create

All notes, lyrics, highlights, audio recordings, and exported files you create in the app are stored locally on your device only. I don’t have access to your creative content, and the app never transmits it to any server.

Speech recognition for karaoke sync runs entirely on your device. Your recordings are never uploaded for transcription or any other purpose.

Usage Analytics

The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to collect anonymous usage statistics — for example, which features are used and which screens are opened, along with general device information (device type, OS version, country). This helps me understand what to improve.

Analytics data never includes your notes, lyrics, recordings, or any content you create. The app has no user accounts, so analytics data is not linked to your name, email, or any other personal identity.

Bug Reports

If you choose to submit a bug report from the app, I receive the description you write together with basic technical details: device model, Android version, app version, and the app’s language setting. Nothing is sent unless you tap send.

Data I Do NOT Collect

• No personal information (name, email, phone number, address)
• No user accounts or login credentials
• No location data
• No contacts or calendar data
• No access to your creative content (notes, lyrics, recordings)

Permissions

The app requests the following device permissions:

• Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO) — Used solely to record vocal clips in the app’s studio mode and for the optional recording-latency calibration. Audio is saved locally on your device and is never transmitted to any server.
• Internet (INTERNET) — Used for showing ads in the free version, anonymous usage analytics, and verifying Premium subscriptions through Google Play.

Third-Party Services

The app integrates the following Google services:

• Google AdMob — The free version shows ads. AdMob may use device identifiers (such as the advertising ID) to serve and measure ads, as described in Google’s Privacy Policy. Users in the European Union are shown a consent dialog and can choose non-personalized ads. Upgrading to Premium removes all ads.
• Google Analytics for Firebase — Anonymous usage statistics, as described above.
• Google Play Billing — Handles Premium subscription purchases. Payment is processed entirely by Google Play; I never see or store your payment details.

No other third-party services collect data through the app, and I never sell your data to anyone.

Data Storage and Security

• All user-created content (notes, lyrics, highlights, audio recordings, video exports) is stored exclusively in a local database and file storage on your device.
• Your creative content is never stored on external servers or cloud services.
• If you uninstall the app, all locally stored data is permanently deleted.

Children’s Privacy

Rhyme Notes does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact me and I will delete it.

Data Retention

• Your content: stored only on your device — you have full control. You can delete individual notes within the app or remove all data by uninstalling the app.
• Analytics data: retained by Google Analytics for Firebase for a limited period and then automatically deleted.
• Bug reports: kept only as long as needed to investigate the issue.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Delete your data at any time by deleting notes within the app or uninstalling the app.
• Control ad personalization — EU users can change their consent choice in the ads consent dialog; all users can reset their advertising ID in Android settings.

Changes to This Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
