Rhyme Notes — Support

Rhyme Notes is a lyric-writing app for rappers and songwriters. Write bars, highlight your rhymes syllable by syllable, record vocals over a beat, and export karaoke videos. It runs on iPhone and Android, works offline, and needs no account.

I build and maintain it on my own, so support comes straight from me.

Getting help

Email — soundwave4@proton.me

Write in English or German. I read everything that arrives.

Or from inside the app — Settings → Report a bug. That form sends your description along with your device model, OS version and app version, which usually saves a round of back-and-forth. Nothing is sent until you tap send.

If you’re reporting a bug, the two things that help most are what you expected to happen and what happened instead.

Common questions

Where are my lyrics stored? Is there a backup?

On your device, and nowhere else. There’s no account and no cloud sync, which means nobody — me included — can read what you write. It also means uninstalling the app deletes your notes, and I can’t recover them for you.

To keep a copy of something: open the note, tap the menu, and choose Share as Project. That writes a .rnote file containing the lyrics, the highlights, the beat and your recordings, which you can mail to yourself or drop in any cloud folder. Opening that file on another phone restores the whole project.

I paid for Premium and it isn’t showing

Check that you’re signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account you bought it with, then reopen the app. On the Premium screen there’s a Restore control that re-checks your purchases with the store. If it still doesn’t appear, email me with which store you bought from and roughly when, and I’ll sort it out.

My recording is out of time with the beat

Every phone has a small delay between its speaker and its microphone, and it differs by device and by whether you’re on headphones. Settings → Latency calibration measures yours in a few seconds. Recordings you make after running it will line up. Run it again if you switch between headphones and speaker.

Which languages does the rhyme engine know?

English, German, French and Spanish. Switch in Settings — the dictionary, the syllable splitting and the rhyme scoring all follow the language you pick.

Can I use it without paying?

Yes. Writing, highlighting, recording, the studio and the rhyme search all work in the free version. Premium removes the ads, lifts the limits on the rhyme results, and unlocks the full colour palette.

The app is in the wrong language

Settings → Language. It’s separate from your phone’s system language on purpose, because plenty of people write lyrics in a language they don’t use for their phone.

Privacy

Nothing you write leaves your device, and speech recognition for karaoke sync runs on the phone rather than on a server. The full details — including what the ads and crash reporting do collect — are in the Privacy Policy.

Rhyme Notes is made by one person in Berlin. If it helped you write something, I’d like to hear about it.
